  • Belgium Telecommunications Report Q2 2016
Published: 03-Feb-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 51
BMI View: Belgian operators are looking to upgrade and upsell new services to their customers, recognising that widening is over and that deepening must become a core strategy. Convergent and 4G services have driven the market in 2015, but there remain some strong opportunities as many users are still on basic services, whether DSL or mobile-voice only. The lack of fibre will hinder the fixed broadband market in the long run, but the regulator must implement local loop un......

Published: 03-Feb-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 51
BMI View: Mobiltel's acquisition of Blizoo further boosts the competition between Mobitel and incumbent Vivacom. This will benefit consumers with the introduction of a wider range of services over faster networks. Third player Telenor will have to become more dynamic. We see no real opportunities for the new fourth mobile network operator, Max Telecom. Latest Updates & Industry Developments ? Mobile subscription growth will steadily slow over the 2016-2020 period as......

  • Indonesia Telecommunications Report Q2 2016
Published: 03-Feb-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 74
BMI View: The government's announcement that it will focus on developing fixed broadband networks in 2016 with the aim to become ASEAN's second largest IT market by 2019 will lead to improved fixed broadband infrastructure. However, geographical barriers due to Indonesia's archipelagic nature and high rollout costs will pose downside risks to this. Efficiencies in 4G will be gained through network and infrastructure sharing that will boost LTE rollout speeds and reduce co......

BMI View: The launch of Bitel, offering low cost, prepaid services, while Entel has adopted an aggressive strategy that will increase competition. Meanwhile, Azteca's Fibre Optic Backbone Network, set to be completed in March 2016, will significantly boost wireline broadband coverage, although mobile broadband will continue to be a key growth area. BMI View: We highlight Uruguay as one of the most developed telecoms markets in Latin America, particularly in the mobile segment, where it leads the region in smartphone penetration, postpaid subscriber mix and 3G/4G uptake. All three mobile operators have launched 4G services as of September 2014, with competition expected to drive uptake.
