South Africa Tourism Report Q3 2013

Publisher Name :
Date: 26-Jun-2013
No. of pages: 75

Since the last quarterly report, South Africa's Department of Tourism has released final tourist arrivals

figures for 2012. These showed overseas (i.e. non-African) arrivals growth of 15.1%, to reach 2,505,762.

Including African arrivals, total arrivals stood at 9,188,368, up by 10.2% y-o-y.

These strong arrivals figures bear out BMI's continued optimism towards the South African tourism sector

at present. Our forecasts currently call for 9% growth in arrivals over 2013, and a further 36% increase in

arrivals over the 2013-17 period, to reach almost 13.3mn total arrivals.

Published: 24-May-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 33
BMI View: Hong Kong is home to a well-developed and mature tourism market. The country attracts high volumes of visitors from mainland China, and as a major regional travel hub also welcomes many visitors from throughout the Asia Pacific region and beyond. Published: 24-May-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 33
BMI View: Although currently small, India's tourism market offers enormous growth potential. The country has a wide range of attractions catering to every type of holiday maker, and as transport connections improve and awareness of the many attractions is raised, we expect to see steady increases in the number of international arrivals welcomed to the country. The huge domestic tourism market and growing numbers of international visitors are attracting hotel developers, a......
  • Qatar Tourism Report Q3 2016
Published: 18-May-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 29
BMI View: Qatar's tourism industry is set for continued growth over the next four years as the government and private industry continue to invest. There will be continued spending on transport infrastructure, due to high profile international sporting events (such as the 2022 Fifa World Cup), and business tourism continues to grow due to increased exhibitions. Regional instability is a concern, and negative publicity surrounding the awarding of the world cup and questions......
  • Spain Tourism Report Q3 2016
Published: 18-May-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 32
BMI View: The outlook for Spain's large and well-established tourism industry is proving positive. Visitor numbers are expected to increase steadily throughout the forecast period, attracted not only by Spain's many holiday destinations but also boosted by a downturn in travel to competing regional destinations such as Turkey and Egypt due to ongoing security concerns. At the same time, the gradual domestic economic recovery will also stimulate further spending on domesti......
  • Sweden Tourism Report Q3 2016
Published: 18-May-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 29
BMI View: Sweden has a well-regulated and stable tourism sector. Legislation is clear and effective and in recent years the infrastructure has been developed to improve travel throughout the country. The biggest problem faced by the sector is its size. Compared to other European destinations, Sweden's inbound arrivals are extremely low, severely limiting the potential for financial returns and, in the longer term, growth. Historically, Sweden has been reliant on regional ......

BMI View: 2016 will be a positive year for the US tourism market, with arrivals of 2.6% demonstrating the country's attractive market fundamentals. Arrivals from Latin America and Europe continue to drive upwards and we believe that these high levels of growth from Asia and the Middle East reflect ongoing efforts to market the US in these regions. Key Updates And Forecasts ? We expect arrivals of 2.6% in 2016 to be driven by high arrivals growth of 3.5% from Latin A......
  • Vietnam Tourism Report Q3 2016
Published: 11-May-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 34
BMI View: Following a lacklustre 2015, we expect 2016 to be a year of strong growth for Vietnam's rebounding tourism sector. Rising visitor numbers from the Asia Pacific region, particularly China, as well as improving European tourist numbers will, helped by with concerted government efforts to support the sector, see inbound growth of some 9.2% in 2016, reaching 8.5mn arrivals. Looking ahead, the future is bright for the sector, with high-spending and/or fast-growing so......
  • Croatia Tourism Report Q3 2016
Published: 11-May-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 30
BMI View: Croatia's tourism sector is expected to expand throughout our forecast period, sustained by increasing arrivals and growing receipts. This will support the hotel and restaurant industry value, creating room for expansion, particularly with international, luxury brands. Strong efforts by the government to promote the country as a year-round destination are expected to improve arrivals and occupancy rates of hotels during the off-peak seasons, as well as boost the......
  • France Tourism Report Q3 2016
Published: 11-May-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 30
BMI View: The French tourism industry is one of the largest globally and consistently tops the charts in terms of the number of international visitors, well ahead of closest rivals the United States, Spain and China. While the volume of visitors to the country declined slightly in late 2015 in the wake of the terrorist attacks on Paris, overall, France saw an increase in arrivals leading to a record inbound tourism market for the year. As a mature market, we expect to see......
