Singapore Telecommunications Report Q1 2013

Publisher Name :
Date: 30-Jan-2013
No. of pages: 99

Singapore's telecommunications industry has outperformed many of its regional peers with strong adoption of the latest products and services. Partially due to the country's small landmass and population size, the telecoms market has rapidly grown to a stage where it is approaching saturation. Next generation technologies, both mobile and fixed, are therefore the next step in fostering new developments and revenue streams, and industry players - the regulator and operators - have rightly moved in that direction.

Key Data:

  • The forecast scenarios for Singapore's mobile, fixed-line and internet markets as well as operators' ARPUs have been extended to 2017.

  • In spite of the launch of next generation LTE services, we continue to forecast operators' ARPUs to trend lower due to competition; we predict the market average to reach SGD46 in 2017.

  • We expect the number of 3G/4G phone subscribers in Singapore to reach 7.198mn in 2017, representing 81.6% of the total mobile market of 8.815mn subscribers.

  • Bahrain Telecommunications Report Q3 2016
Published: 04-May-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 50
BMI View: Despite several risks to economic growth and investment that include ongoing political instability and weak oil prices, Bahrain's mobile and wireline telecoms sectors continue to display healthy levels of competition and measurable benefits for telecoms customers. Bahrain still generates the second most attractive returns for operators in the Middle East and North Africa region. The ability to offer fixed and mobile services means that the country's three mobile......

Published: 04-May-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 43
BMI View: We retain our view in the 2016 annual report that Chad is one of Africa's most challenging markets for telecommunications investment and development. Mobile growth shows signs of deceleration and a challenging political environment will remain a key deterrent for foreign investment for upcoming years. Furthermore, the operators are likely to turn away from expanding into rural areas and rather focus on expanding their networks in cities to offer higher value dat......
  • Indonesia Telecommunications Report Q3 2016
Published: 04-May-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 75
BMI View: Although current and ongoing investments are certainly helping to improve the country's fixed broadband infrastructure, geographical barriers due to Indonesia's archipelagic nature and high rollout costs will pose downside risks to the government's plans to develop the country's fixed broadband infrastructure. By engaging in 4G network and infrastructure sharing arrangements, Indonesia's mobile networks operators will benefit from efficiencies that will not only......
  • Qatar Telecommunications Report Q3 2016
Published: 04-May-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 60
BMI View: In 2015, Qatar's mobile market continued to experience robust growth, outperforming our initial forecasts. Key factors contributing to the expanding subscriber base include the growth of the migrant population, which is associated with major infrastructure and economic development projects - including those related to the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup. Although positive subscriber growth will continue for the duration of our forecast, we expect it slow significan......
