Singapore Telecommunications Report Q1 2013

Publisher Name :
Date: 30-Jan-2013
No. of pages: 99

Singapore's telecommunications industry has outperformed many of its regional peers with strong adoption of the latest products and services. Partially due to the country's small landmass and population size, the telecoms market has rapidly grown to a stage where it is approaching saturation. Next generation technologies, both mobile and fixed, are therefore the next step in fostering new developments and revenue streams, and industry players - the regulator and operators - have rightly moved in that direction.

Key Data:

  • The forecast scenarios for Singapore's mobile, fixed-line and internet markets as well as operators' ARPUs have been extended to 2017.

  • In spite of the launch of next generation LTE services, we continue to forecast operators' ARPUs to trend lower due to competition; we predict the market average to reach SGD46 in 2017.

  • We expect the number of 3G/4G phone subscribers in Singapore to reach 7.198mn in 2017, representing 81.6% of the total mobile market of 8.815mn subscribers.

  • Bangladesh Telecommunications Report Q2 2016
Published: 10-Feb-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 58
BMI View: The launch of 3G services has significantly boosted consumption of non-voice advanced services in the mobile market. Top-line subscription growth figures support the notion that there is untapped demand for such services, although we are aware that price-driven promotional campaigns are just as responsible for this uptick. Nevertheless, non-voice still accounts for a small proportion of total mobile revenues. Latest Updates & Industry Developments ? ......
  • Philippines Telecommunications Report Q2 2016
Published: 10-Feb-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 65
BMI View: Operators will aim to derive revenue growth from growing mobile data usage trends, leveraging the Philippines' strong economic growth potential to introduce premium value added services (VAS) and data-heavy mobile applications. To this end, both Philippines Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) and Globe Telecom have tied up with over the top (OTT) video streaming platforms such as iflix, HOOQ and Netflix. However, smartphone ownership and slow speeds are key enablers ......
  • South Africa Telecommunications Report Q2 2016
Published: 10-Feb-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 79
BMI View: We continue to maintain our core forecast for the South African market and retain our positive outlook for 2016. The market has so far performed beyond our expectations, adding over 6mn subscribers in 9M15. Furthermore, the uptake of 3G and LTE services is in line with our recent revisions. We do however caution that with penetration rate inching towards 170%, there is a high likelihood of a significant number of inactive sims connections that have not been disc......
  • Sudan and South Sudan Telecommunications Report Q2 2016
Published: 10-Feb-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 75
Based on data published by some of the operators for Q3 2015, we estimate that Sudan had 27.4mn mobile telephony subscribers at the end of 2015, up by 2.2% y-o-y and equivalent to a mobile penetration rate of just over 68%. In the five years to 2020, we now predict that Sudan's mobile market will grow to surpass 29mn mobile customers. 3G subscriptions are expected to grow from 22.7% of mobile subscriptions in 2015 to 41.5% of the total market in 2020. ? We estimate ......

  • Belgium Telecommunications Report Q2 2016
Published: 03-Feb-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 51
BMI View: Belgian operators are looking to upgrade and upsell new services to their customers, recognising that widening is over and that deepening must become a core strategy. Convergent and 4G services have driven the market in 2015, but there remain some strong opportunities as many users are still on basic services, whether DSL or mobile-voice only. The lack of fibre will hinder the fixed broadband market in the long run, but the regulator must implement local loop un......
  • Bulgaria Telecommunications Report Q2 2016
Published: 03-Feb-2016        Price: US 1295 Onwards        Pages: 51
BMI View: Mobiltel's acquisition of Blizoo further boosts the competition between Mobitel and incumbent Vivacom. This will benefit consumers with the introduction of a wider range of services over faster networks. Third player Telenor will have to become more dynamic. We see no real opportunities for the new fourth mobile network operator, Max Telecom. Latest Updates & Industry Developments ? Mobile subscription growth will steadily slow over the 2016-2020 period as......
